Wrong design with recliners

Ordered sofa in December 2019 and received in May 2020. Not an issue with the late arrival of sofa and Henry customer service. Sofa is not comfortable and the design for recliners are bad. With recliners folded you have a gap between shoulders and the head. With recliners open, you have a gap and some time you get hurt to legs with the frame. Console is just for looks with no storage. Please don't buy seeing the looks of the sofa, with the amount spent of these opulent sofa, I would just buy something in local. I would rate zero for this product.

Why do you sell products that are not real ? You say it's a genuine leather, but why people are complaining ? They post picture about the peeling faux material, I was so thrilled to buy one sectional but now I'm disappointed, imagine spend 3000 and more for an item you love and then it's all false my sofa that bought (not from you) 5 years ago started to peel it , it is supposed to be leather, so I'm already living the bad experience of the cunning companies online I wish you could be all fake reviews, but how can we trust you or customers ??

I was able to resolve my dispute with Opulent Items as they went above and beyond and offered me new replacement couches at no cost!! I am now more then satisfied with the outcome and want to reach out to public With my update. Couches I initially bought had few defects. They acknowledge the defects and offered replacement.

If there was an option to post zero stars I would. This company is a fraud, they claim to sell 100 percent leather material when in reality it is not. Less than 13 months of own one of their couch (that cost over 4k) the material at the bottom of my couch started to peel. which of course didn't make any sense, upon checking, I realized that material at the bottom of the couch was different than the upper part. I made a complain spoke to the salesperson I was in contact with when I first bought the couch, Henry. Henry offered to make amends and offered to replace my couch. He asked for pictures and I sent it to him. After that never heard from him again. I called the company left many messages and emails, but no response. I would NEVER recommend their products to anyone. I just lost 4k to a fraudulent company.

To whom it may concern This is not a truthful review. As you may all see for yourselves below, we corresponded with this customer and offered free replacements for the sofa sections that were affected.

We even followed up with the customer and did not hear back, which is why the Better Business Bureau closed the case.

After purchasing our $3000+ sofa from Opulent Items, we quickly realized that this company is a fraud. The 100% Italian Leather Sofa sold to us is NOT LEATHER and is actually made in China. The "leather" you see in the photos started cracking and peeling only months after we purchased it and its gotten worse over time. Buyer Beware!

After months of no response from the company, the owner, Henry, responded to my BBB complaint. He explained to me that although we paid an upcharge for the 100% leather option, that only a portion of the sofas he sells are actually leather. He included a diagram outlining the leather vs non-leather parts. The part that is peeling and cracking on our sofa is marked as being real leather on his diagram. I pointed this out to him and he stopped responding. He did not offer me a refund or a replacement and he continues to sell fake leather couches to people and lie about his customer interactions.

All we asked for was what we paid for- a 100% real leather couch.

In his response here, he blames us for not taking care of the couch and conditioning it, but this is not the issue- the issue is that the couch is NOT LEATHER! We had two independent leather technicians who have worked over 20 years refinishing and restoring leather and they confirmed that Henry sold us a VINYL couch and NOT a LEATHER one. We hope no one else gets duped by this con-artist.

china made s_ _t! Fake leather, terrible customer service, owner/manager is a complete *** and wont properly warranty anything you bought from them.

Fraud! This rude Gonzalez guy told me sofas where made in USA. Its CHINA crap! Stitching pulling apart, throw pillows are fake leather, headrest are so wobbly u cannot use them. Everything u touch is supposed to be leather well its not. Total garbage! A don't even try to get help with a problem. That Gonzalez guy is rude and doesn't appreciate customers. Don't waste ur money!

Obiviously! It didnt last two years. I replaced your sofa set with a "real" leather sofa from another company and the difference in quality is astonishing between what you call leather and from the new sofa set I bought.

The so called leather you offer is a joke compared to the real thing. Got to sue to get my money back, so be it!

Update: Opulent items just called me because he was pissed that I left a truthful negative review. It’s surprising because he did not reply to any of my emails or call me back after all those voice messages I left earlier this year and last year.

He left a nasty rude voice message. I wish I could post it here so you all could hear it. I do not need anything from him.

I just wanted to leave an honest review for this man. That’s all.

We had a downright HORRIBLE experience with this company. - The couch came in the wrong color. - we paid for real leather but only half of it was real leather. I’ve had several people ask me why one half of my couch wasn’t the same material as the other. -it came wayyy later than we were told. We were given info that it would be next week, then oh next week, then the next week, then ok we have no idea when. - then only half of the L shaped couch arrived. - within the first year the couch was ripping at he seems all the way down the front of the cushions. It looks HORRIBLE. They say there is a warranty but there actually isn’t. They did NOT return my calls or emails. HUGE waste of money!

I strongly encourage that readers conduct a review on this Pissed Consumer website as you will see numerous companies, including ours, are suing this malicious website.

They create many fake reviews (not all the reviews are fake, but most are) and then ask the companies to pay them thousands of dollars a month to take down the bad reviews. I encourage you to verify this yourselves by researching this company.

Not satisfied with their shipping service. My coffee table and sofa chair came ripped and Henry did not help me to get replaced instead he is trying to tell me to claim shipping service.

Nothing happened and still I am having ripped items in my living room after four years.

Such design is very expensive to repair it too. I am very disappointed with their response on replacement of any damaged item.

We have ordered a Connie Sectional with 2 recliners .Its been a month and they haven't provided any status on the order. These are expensive sofas and they took the money in advance a month ago and there is no way to reach them. We left couple of voice mails and emails to their 800 number and sent emails, but no one responded to phone calls or emails. Henry Gonzalez was the one dealing with this order. They called immediately in an hour if we left the voice message saying we are interested in purchasing. Seems like they are FRAUD!! Dealing with this company has been very disappointing. Not sure how else to reach them..

Normally I don't submit reviews, but I was checking up on Opulent Items before purchasing another sofa from them and I was surprised to see some of these reviews so I thought to share my experience.
